Nathan Singleton is the founder of Helmerich & Payne’s Cybersecurity Program. H&P is the largest U.S. land driller with operations around the world, and Nathan was hired to create and manage the Cybersecurity Program covering corporate and subsidiary IT systems, and the company’s OT systems deployed on over 300 drilling rigs. From its inception in 2014, Cybersecurity has grown to represent 10% of IT resources, and presents quarterly reports to the Board of Directors. In Spring of 2020, Nathan’s scope expanded to include Applications Security, Architecture, IT Governance, and IT Risk. He has represented H&P at industry events and, most recently, at Lloyd’s of London. Prior to H&P, he was the Security Program Manager for an agency under the U.S. Department of Energy, which distributed electric power from federal hydroelectric projects with facilities in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. Nathan holds a BS and MS in Computer Science with a focus in Information Security from the University of Tulsa and is a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Service.
