Ron Bolen, serves as an Assistant Professor at the OU Price College of Business Tom Love Division of Entrepreneurship & Economic Development. Additionally, Ron is the founder and a Managing Director of da3co, LLC, an global energy consultancy. Ron has over 25 years of experience in launching, financing and advising new ventures. He has over 15 years direct experience in private equity investing in the same space. His work in energy private equity includes both the power and oil & gas segments. Ron was, most recently, Managing Director of HFBE Investment Banking leading that firm’s energy practice. Prior to joining HFBE, Ron was Managing Director of The InvestLinc Group, managing the energy practice there. InvestLinc Group acquired Invictus Energy Group LLC, an international power project finance venture specializing in power optimization opportunities which Ron co-founded. Ron was also an investment officer for DQE Enterprises, the venture capital subsidiary of DQE. There, Ron was responsible for making equity investments in early-stage energy technology companies. Preceding his time at DQE Enterprises, Ron was a Senior Director of Portland General Electric where he established the company's private equity investment group as well as oversaw the non-regulated affiliate organization. Ron’s professional efforts have had a significant international flavor with extensive work in South and Southeast Asia, Latin America and the Former Soviet Union. Ron has served industry as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, investment banker, and lawyer. Ron holds a BBA in Finance as well as a Juris Doctor from The University of Oklahoma. He also received a Masters of Business Administration with majors in both Finance and Taxation from New York University.
