Secretary Elizabeth Pollard

Governor Stitt appointed Pollard as Secretary of Science and Innovation on June 29, 2020. As Cabinet Secretary, Pollard plays a critical role in developing and leading Oklahoma’s innovation economy. Pollard’s cabinet collaborates with key stakeholders across government, industry, academia, research institutions, and nonprofits to find collaborative opportunities to invest in Oklahoma’s future through science, technology, and innovation with emphasis in the following areas: Biotechnology/Life Sciences, Aerospace, Autonomous Systems and Defense, and Energy Diversification. Her cabinet includes the award-winning Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST) where she serves as Chair for the Oklahoma Science, Technology, Research and Development Board (OSTRaD). Pollard chairs two councils for the Governor - the Science and Innovation Council and the Aerospace, Autonomous Systems and Defense Council. Under her leadership, these Councils published the 2021-2026 Science and Innovation Strategic Plan for the State of Oklahoma. Pollard is a C-Suite veteran and has extensive global experience scaling businesses, building commercial and academic partnerships, and bringing to market highly specialized technology and solutions for healthcare and the life sciences. Pollard advises and is a director for several early-stage companies in Silicon Valley. In addition, she serves on the YPO Global Board of Directors, a global leadership community of more than 35,000 chief executive representing more than 140 countries. YPO member-run companies employ >16 million people and generate >USD 6 trillion in annual revenues.
