2025

Letter From Managing Director

Dear friends, colleagues, and fellow community members,

2025 has been a year of exciting progress for Tulsa Innovation Labs (TIL), our partners, and the communities we serve.

For those new to us, Tulsa Innovation Labs is a tech-led economic development organization focused on securing Tulsa’s leadership in the industries of tomorrow. We connect resources, ideas, and people to build thriving industries in the Heartland—through industrial clusters that make sense for Tulsa, not just headlines.

We’re often called the “drone organization,” and we’re proud of our work in autonomy and drones. But TIL is much more than that. Think of us as the “future industries organization,” building a portfolio of strengths across sectors like energy, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. These competitive clusters are built on regional assets, informed by market dynamics, and designed to transform our economy in ways that are resilient and sustainable.

About TIL

Tulsa Innovation Labs is building a world-class innovation hub in America’s heartland that unlocks opportunity for all.Dear friends, colleagues, and fellow community members,

At TIL, we help innovation-driven companies thrive and win in the new economy. As emerging technology disrupts pillar industries in Oklahoma, we must transition and adapt to the innovation economy to secure the jobs of the future for our communities.

Our partners are crucial in helping us strengthen these key industries through initiatives that deploy resources in capital and entrepreneurship, talent and workforce, and place and infrastructure.
The energy industry contributes $37B in GDP and supports 390,000 jobs in the Tulsa region.

100 years after being nicknamed the “Oil Capital of the World,” Tulsa is a leading innovator in energy technology to ensure we're able to meet the increasing demands on our power grid. Our region is a hub for energy technology where industry giants and early-stage startups coexist and drive success for each other.

The manufacturing industry contributes $19B in GDP and supports 131,000 jobs in the Tulsa region.

With a long history in manufacturing aviation parts, Tulsa is primed to lead in advanced manufacturing talent and technology.

The aerospace and defense industry contributes $44B in GDP and supports 120,000 jobs in the Tulsa region.

To maintain and increase opportunities in this industry, we must lean into autonomous flight and drone technology. With a recent $51M investment from the U.S. Department of Commerce, our region has been designated a Tech Hub that will address critical supply chain gaps and national security threats in the new era of aviation.
